Joseph De Mott began practicing law in 1976 and is licensed in both Texas State Court and Federal Court. He obtained his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Texas at Austin and his law degree from the University of Nebraska. Committed to justice and advocacy, Mr. De Mott is a charter member of the State Bar of Texas Immigration and Nationality Law Section and served as the section’s first Vice President for Family-Based Immigration Law. Additionally, he was a member of The American Immigration Lawyers Association and the founding attorney of what is know today as DMCA; in 2015 he moved to Of Counsel status.
Throughout his career, he demonstrated a deep sense of advocacy for immigrants. His legacy at DMCA continues to inspire the firm to uphold the same high standards of integrity and compassion that he exemplified. Mr. De Mott has assisted thousands of immigrants in achieving their immigration goals throughout his career. Although Mr. De Mott has retired, he has entrusted the firm to the capable hands of experienced immigration attorneys Lance Curtright and Marisol Perez.
