As a first-generation Mexican American born to immigrant parents, Brisa has always been driven by a deep sense of determination and a commitment to making a difference. Growing up in El Paso, Texas, she experienced firsthand what the immigrant community could do for our country and the injustices they faced. From her experiences, Brisa felt compelled to lend her support to those in the immigrant community. With a solid educational foundation, she graduated from Our Lady of the Lake University with a Bachelor’s degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice with a certification in violence prevention and intervention.
Determined to further her impact in the legal realm, Brisa pursued her passion for justice by earning a Doctor of Jurisprudence from St. Mary’s University School of Law. During her time at law school, she exhibited exceptional dedication and expertise, balancing rigorous academics with full-time work as a legal assistant at DMCA. As a legal assistant, she assisted our clients in different aspects of their cases. From drafting applications and affidavits, preparing their final packets, and assisting the attorney in preparing the clients for court, Brisa played a crucial role in our litigation team. As she embarks on this new role with DMCA, Brisa remains steadfast in her mission to empower marginalized communities and uphold the principles of justice for all.
