Important News for DACA recipients who have applied for RenewalUSCIS is experiencing significant delays processing DACA renewal and work authorization applications. Many people are having their DACA renewal applications approved for a period of two years, but without the work authorization approval.USCIS estimates that it will take another 90 days for work authorization adjudication and issuance of the employment authorization card after the DACA approval.The significant delays by USCIS are not acceptable. DMCA is advocating for immediate action by the U.S. government to correct these processing delays.In the interim, DACA recipients may apply to renew their Texas Driver’s License (TXDL) or Texas ID by taking the I-821D/DACA approval notice to any Department of Public Safety (DPS) office. DPS should renew a Driver’s License or ID for the 2-year period without the employment authorization card.
